Early Work I

Comment on this set »

It was four years ago today that I did my first studio shoot for the Pretty Pumps project, but prior to that I had gotten some experience working with models at glamour photography workshops. I took my very first high heel photos at those workshops, and as a little bonus for my members, I thought it might be fun to share a few of them here.

For those not familiar with the concept, a glamour photography workshop is an event where the organizer hires some attractive female models to lounge around in various states of undress, and a group of (mostly male) photographers follows them around taking pictures. In a group shoot setting such as this, you have no control over what the models are wearing, or how they pose. All I could do was walk around with my camera at the ready, and hope that the models would randomly strike some leggy poses while all the other guys were trying to get boob shots.

I had purchased my camera literally the day before I attended this workshop and I had no idea how to use it, so as you might expect the photo quality is mediocre at best, although there are a few shots that came out surprisingly well. I stopped attending the workshops once I realized that I could just as easily hire models on my own, but this was where I got my start.

Michael, why you hiding these from us? These girls could be added to the lineup of regulars!

@Larry I agree with you, especially the first girl in the series. Believe me, if I knew where to find her, I would hire her in a heartbeat. But I never had contact information for any of these models (they were hired by the workshop), and these photos are at least five years old. I am sure all of these girls are long gone from modeling.

Oh man – that first girl… put her face on some milk cartons and get her in this man haha. Yeah I can totally see what you were talking about. She’s got this look – I should have gone into photography haha.
